Wake Forest and North Carolina have met 30 times in the all-time series. The Tar Heels lead the series, 18-6-6. The Deacons have captured the previous two meetings and three of the last four. In fact, Wake Forest has not lost to North Carolina since Nov. 10, 2000. Wake Forest shutout the Tar Heels, 2-0, in Chapel Hill last season. Wake Forest is 3-8-4 all-time against North Carolina in Winston-Salem. However, the Deacs have not lost a regular season home match to the Tar Heels since 1997.

Scouting the Tar Heels
North Carolina enters this important ACC battle with a 10-3-1 overall record and 1-3-1 in the league. The Tar Heels, who have lost three straight ACC matches, defeated William & Mary earlier this week, 3-2.

North Carolina has dropped ACC games to Maryland (1-4), Virginia Tech (0-1) and Virginia (0-2). Scott Campbell heads the Tar Heel offensive attack. The freshman leads North Carolina in goals (7) and points (18). He is also tied for the team lead with four assists. Junior transfer Ben Hunter is second on the team with five goals and 14 points. Ford Williams has started 12 games in net and has a 0.88 goals against average.

Last Time Out
Wake Forest used three second-half goals, two from junior defender Steven Curfman, to race past Appalachian State, 3-1, Wednesday night at Spry Stadium. The Demon Deacons have defeated the Mountaineers 12 consecutive times. Senior All-American Justin Moose added a goal and assist.
