WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Former Wake Forest soccer players' Michael Parkhurst, James Riley and Scott Sealy each made their MLS debut this past weekend.

Parkhurst and Riley, each members of the New England Revolution, helped the Revs rally from two goals behind to draw 2-2 with the San Jose Earthquakes in their 2005 season opener on Saturday night at Spartan Stadium.

Trailing 2-1, New England evened the score in the 73rd minute when striker Taylor Twellman scored his first goal of the season. Riley, who had come on as a substitute in the 56th minute, served a ball forward from the midfield directly to Twellman. Twellman turned and beat one Quakes defender and then shot the ball with his left foot to even the score 2-2.

Parkhurst started and played all 90 minutes at central defender.

"He handled it very well," head coach Steve Nicol said. "He will only gain more experience and get better, but I thought he was sound and made good decisions. He had a good day."

Sealy entered his match in the 81st minute to replace Chris Klein as the Kansas City Wizards defeated the Colorado Rapids, 3-2.
