Former Demon Deacon Amir Lowery Selected In MISL Draft

PHILADELPHIA - Former Wake Forest defensive midfielder Amir Lowery was chosen by the Philadelphia KiXX in the fourth round of Tuesday's MISL Soccer Draft.

Lowery, a native of Washington, D.C., was a rugged and durable player for the Demon Deacons the past four seasons. So durable, that he started every single game his last three years - a streak of 62 consecutive matches. Lowery also earned All-ACC second team his junior and senior seasons.

Lowery, the 40th overall pick, scored one goal and registered three assists for the ACC regular-season champions. Lowery was also selected by the Colorado Rapids with the 45th overall pick in the 2005 MLS SuperDraft.

He played for the Carolina Dynamo of the Premier Developmental League (PDL) during the summer of 2004.
