Winston-Salem, NC - In a classic Halloween battle between Demons and Devils, the third-ranked Demon Deacons won their eighth straight game with a 4-0 victory against the Duke Blue Devils on Halloween night in front of 2,544 fans at Spry Stadium.

The victory gave Wake Forest a new school record with nine straight home wins. The Deacons improved to 12-3, 4-2 in the ACC. Duke slipped to 7-9-1 overall, 2-4 in the conference. The Blue Devils saw their five-game winning streak come to an end.

The teams went into the intermission with Wake Forest holding a 1-0 lead and a 10-1 edge in shots.

Just as they did last week against North Carolina, the Deacons pulled away with three second half goals. Jeremiah White extended the lead to two goals in the 55th minute. Moments later, in the 59th minute, Scott Sealy re-directed a ball from White to make it 3-0.

Wake Forest went 4-0 in ACC games during the month, outscoring its conference rivals 13-2. The Deacons started the month ranked 19th in the NSCAA Coaches Poll.
