Men's Soccer Upends Maryland, 2-1

COLLEGE PARK, MD -- The sixth-ranked Wake Forest men's soccer team defeated the seventh ranked Maryland Terrapins 2-1 in overtime Saturday night.

Bobby Gehring scored the first goal of the game at the 75:28 mark off an assist from Matt Thompson. Maryland tied the game with a goal by Siba Mohammed off a pass from Rob Birch to tie the game at the 84:27 mark. Neither team could score for the remainder of regulation and the game headed to overtime. Jamal Seale won the game for the Deacons with his goal at the 99:45 mark of the game to give Wake Forest a 2-1 victory.

With the win, Wake Forest improves to 10-0-4 overall and 2-0-2 in ACC play. Maryland drops to 12-3 overall and 3-2 in conference play.

Wake Forest will return to action on Tuesday, Oct. 26 when it hosts Charleston Southern. Gametime is set for 7 p.m. at Spry Stadium.
