Men's Soccer Ties Duke, 1-1
Lonteen's goal early in second half keeps Wake undefeated.

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- The seventh-ranked Wake Forest men's soccer
team fought to a 1-1 tie with the second-ranked Duke Blue Devils in front
of 2,632 fans at Spry Stadium Wednesday night.
Duke took a 1-0 lead on a goal by Ryan Furgurson off an assist from
Stephen Pate at the 35:10 mark in the game. Furgurson's goal was the only
goal of the first half as Duke took the 1-0 lead to halftime.
Wake Forest answered quickly in the second half with a goal by
sophomore Chris Lonteen just 30 seconds into the second half. Neither team
could score from that point on as the game went through two scoreless
overtime periods before ending in a 1-1 tie.
Wake Forest moves to 8-0-4 overall and 1-0-2 in the ACC. Duke is
now 6-0-3 overall and 2-0-2 in ACC play.
Wake Forest will return to action on Saturday, Oct. 16 when it
hosts High Point at 7 p.m. at Spry Stadium.
