Men's soccer pounds Wildcats in driving rain, 5-0.

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The 18th-ranked Wake Forest men's soccer team defeated the Davidson Wildcats 5-0 in a driving rain storm at Spry Stadium Wednesday night.

Jamal Seale scored the Deacs first goal at the 31:01 mark off an assist by Chad Evans. Wake Forest increased its lead to 2-0 when Jaron Barbee scored a goal off assists from Matt Thompson and Seale. Wake carried the 2-0 lead into halftime.

Greg Krauss, Viktor Litovka and Bobby Gehring added goals in the second half for the Deacons to make the final 5-0.

In addition to his one goal, Seale added two assists to lead the Deacons.

Wake Forest is 4-0-1 on the season with the win, while Davidson drops to 2-4. The Deacons open ACC play Sunday, Sept. 19, when they travel to Charlottesville, Va. to take on the Virginia Cavaliers. Gametime is set for 2 p.m.
