An All-ACC candidate -- A three-year starter at sweeper who returns to the
backfield -- an extremely smart player with excellent field vision -- reads
the game quickly and rarely gets himself in trouble -- possesses great ball
distribution skills -- deemed one of the best passers in the country by head
coach Jay Vidovich.
1999: Started all 21 games at sweeper -- a key member of a defensive unit
that allowed only 8.9 shots per game -- netted four assists on the year --
assisted on goals against Coastal Carolina and Charleston Southern -- made
the Dean's List in the spring 2000 semester.
1998: Started all 19 games, continuing to blossom into one of the most
proficient sweepers in the ACC and the region set up the game-winning goal
vs. San Francisco in the Nike-WFU Classic -- also tallied assists against
No. 4 Virginia, Davidson, and No. 3 Duke -- earned All-Tournament honors at
the Nike-WFU Classic.
1997: Started all 20 games at sweeper as a rookie and exhibited the poise
and leadership of a seasoned veteran -- a crucial member of a Deacon defense
that posted eight shutouts on the year -- tallied two goals and two assists
on the year from his sweeper position -- netted assists in Wake's wins over
Radford and No. 13 Clemson -- scored his first collegiate goal vs. Belmont
Abbey on a direct free kick -- also scored a goal vs. No. 9 Virginia in the
ACC semifinals, tying the game at 1-1.
Before WFU: A first-team all-state and All-South selection in '96 -- earned
second-team all-state honors in '95 -- the MVP at Durham Academy in '94, '95
and '96 -- team won the 1996 Independent School state title -- state
co-champions in '95 -- a four-time all-conference selection -- the 1996 PACIS
Player of the Year -- a member of the Raleigh Caps Green Select team, which
won state titles in '95 and '96 -- Snickers MVP in '95 -- tallied 82 goals
and 52 assists in his varsity career at Durham Academy -- participated in
the North Carolina ODP program from 1991-96 -- competed with the ODP
regional team in '93.
Personal: A Dean's List honors student at WFU -- majoring in business and
accountancy -- a four-year member of the Durham Academy Honor Roll -- born
