1998: Started all 19 games and earned first-team All-ACC and All-Region honors...brought his game to a new level, cementing his reputation as one of the nation's top man markers...part of a defense which allowed just 8.9 shots per game...was continually assigned to an opponents' top offensive threat, shutting down some of the most explosive scorers in college soccer...earned All-Tournament honors at both the Nike-WFU Classic and the Nike-Husky Classic...tallied two goals and five assists on the year...notched a goal vs. San Francisco and the game-winner vs. NC State...set up two of the Deacs' six goals vs. Charleston Southern...suffered a serious knee injury in Wake's season-ending loss to No. 3 Duke in the ACC Quarterfinals.
1997: Started all 20 games at marking back, earning second-team All-ACC and third-team All-Region honors...routinely assigned to the opponent's top striker...a key part of a stifling defensive unit which posted eight shutouts...netted a goal and three assists on the year...scored his lone goal vs. North Carolina...assisted on the game-winning goal in overtime vs. New Hampshire in the Nike-WFU Classic...also assisted on the game-winner in the Deacs' 2-0 upset of No. 7 James Madison...competed in the prestigious adidas summer league with the top collegiate players in the country in the summer of '98.
1996: A starter in all 19 games as a freshman...took 14 shots on the year...more importantly, was an integral part of the solid Wake Forest defensive effort...started for a defensive unit that finished with eight shutouts and a 0.98 GAA...was a member of the U.S. Under-20 team up to the final cut.
Before WFU: A Soccer America Super 11 recruit from Region I...participated in the '96 Puma Cup...member of the ODP regional and state teams in 1995-96o traveled with the Region I team to play teams from England, Ireland and Wales...named to the Region I All-Tournament team in Cocoa Beach in '96...led the Columbia Darby club to five state titles...was captain and leading scorer for the Waldorf Wizards club...first-team all-state at LaPlata High in '94 and '95...All-D.C. Metro and county player of the year in '94 and '95...LaPlata earned conference titles in '93 and '94 and was undefeated in '94...team captain in 1995-96.
