WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest freshman Brent Wanner has been named to the 2000 All-Atlantic Coast Conference Men's Golf Team, released today by the ACC office. The team was selected by a vote of the league's nine head coaches.

Wanner is the first Deacon freshman to be named to the All-ACC squad since Bobby Collins in 1991, and was one of only two freshman selected to the team. The rookie from Chatham, Mass., has played in 11 of the Demon Deacons' 12 events on the year and leads the team with a 73.0 stroke average. He has finished in the top 5 in five different events and also placed 14th at the ACC Championship in April.

Wanner and the Deacons will take part in the NCAA East Regional Championship next weekend, May 18-20, at the Glenmaura National Golf Club in Moosic, Pa.
