Last Week In Deacon Golf

Feb. 13, 2007

While the Wake Forest men's golf team kicked off the spring season last weekend with a third-place finish at the SunTrust Gator Invitational, some former Deacons turned in solid performances on tour.

Jay Haas finished second at the Champions Tour event, the Allianz Championship. He finished 13-under par for the tournament, two shots behind Mark James. Scott Hoch rallied on the final day with a 6-under score to secure another top-10 finish. Curtis Strange shot 4-under on the final day to finish 4-under for the tournament and tied for 36th.

Billy Andrade, Len Mattiace, Gary Hallberg and Kyle Reifers all played in the Pebble Beach Pro-Am.

Andrade, Bill Haas and Mattiace are all playing this week in the Nissan Open.

There was no Nationwide Tour event last week.
