Wake Forest Moves Into Second at Isleworth Intercollegiate

The Wake Forest men's golf team jumped in to second place with a three-under par performance on Tuesday in the second round of the Isleworth-Central Florida Collegiate Invitational being played at the Isleworth Country Club.

The Deacons, ranked 17th in the nation, are at six-under 570 through 36 holes, just four shots behind tournament leader Georgia. The fourth-ranked Bulldogs fired a tournament-low 13-under on Monday to take sole possession of first place at 10-under 566.

Wake Forest was led by junior Dustin Groves who fired a six-under 66 on Monday. He moved into a tie for 15th place at one-under 143. Groves set a tournament record with his 66. Groves had six birdies and an eagle-two on the par 4, 16th-hole to help the Demon Deacons move up two spots into sole possession of second place.

Sophomore Brendan Gielow remains Wake Forest's individual leader. Gielow moved to -4 for the tournament with a one-under 71 on Monday. He is tied for fifth place.

Webb Simpson is tied with Groves for 15th place after Monday's two-over 74. Simpson is at one-under 143 for the tournament.

Chris McCartin is 46th at four-over 148 after a 78 on Monday. Freshman Chris Cannon carded a 74 on Monday. He is tied for 73rd place at 10-over 154.
