Men's Golf Finishes Seventh At Carpet Capital Classic

DALTON, Ga.-- Redshirt freshman CORTLAND LOWE shot a career-low 69 in the
final round of play as the Wake Forest men's golf team finished seventh of
15 teams at the Carpet Capital Classic golf tournament. The event was
played on the par-72, 6906-yard course at The Farm Golf Club.
The Demon Deacons carded a final-round team score of 291, or 3-over
par, and finish at 13-over for the tournament. One of only three teams in
the field not ranked in the Mastercard Top 25, Wake Forest was 27 shots
behind team champion Georgia Tech (-14).
Lowe and sophomore JAY MORGAN, who shot a 74 in the final round,
finished tied for 24th place in the individual standings at 2-over par.
The duo was 14 shots behind the individual medalist, Georgia Tech's Bryce
Molder (-12). Freshman BRENT WANNER shot a 73 today and tied for 32nd
place at 5-over, while sophomore BART DeLUCA tallied a 75 and placed 45th
(+9). Freshman BUCK WILLIAMS shot a 77 and finished 54th (+12).
