COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Wake Forest men's golf team sits in second place at the Ping/Golfweek Preview after the first round at Ohio State's Scarlet Golf Course. Brent Wanner led the Demon Deacons with a two-under par score of 69 on the first 18 holes, placing the junior from Chatham, Mass., in a three-way tie for first place with Oklahoma's Cody Freeman and Jason Hartwick from Texas.

Clemson has a one stroke lead on Wake Forest after day one. The Tigers lead the 15-team field with a four-over par first-round score of 288.

The Ping/Golfweek Preview will resume play Saturday, Sept., 29 before concluding with a final 18 holes on Sunday, Sept. 30. Complete results are available at golfstat.com.
