Corvallis, Ore. - The Wake Forest men's golf team is currently in sixth place after two rounds of the NCAA West Regional, held at Trysting Tree Golf Club in Corvallis, Ore. Although the Deacons dropped three spots in the standings after the second round, they are still in good position to make the cut for the NCAA Championships. The top 10 teams from the West Regional will advance to the championships.

After shooting an even par on Thursday, the Deacs turned in a 14-over par 302 on Friday. Arizona State leads the field with a 16-under par, the only team to boast a sub-par score. Wake Forest is currently three strokes behind both UCLA and Stanford, who are tied for fourth with an 11-under par.

Individually, freshman Bill Haas leads the Deacons, as he is currently in 25th place with a three-over 147. Haas carded a one-over 73 on Friday to go with his first-round 74. Sophomore Chris Yoder turned in the Deacs' best round on Friday, shooting a one-under 71. He is currently in 60th place with a six-over 150 for the tournament.

Other Deacon scores on Friday included a pair of 79s from Cortland Lowe and Jay Morgan, and an 83 from Brent Wanner.

The final round of the NCAA West Regional takes place Saturday.
