ROSWELL, Ga. - The Wake Forest men's golf team remained in sixth place after the second round of the NCAA East Regional. The Deacs turned in an eight-over 296 on Friday and are 19-over for the tournament with a 595.

The three-day, 54-hole tournament, featuring 27 teams, is taking place on the par 72, 7,054-yard layout at Ansley Golf Club's Settindown Creek.

The top 10 teams, as well as the top two individuals on non-qualifying teams from the East Regional will advance to the 2002 NCAA Championships at Ohio State University's Scarlet Course May 29-June 1.

Clemson remains in first place with a one-over 577 after two rounds. Host Georgia Tech is just one stroke behind the Tigers, while North Carolina turned in a field low two-under on Friday to move into third place with a 581.
