AUGUSTA, Ga. -- The Wake Forest men's golf team carded a final round score of 293, or 5-over par, to finish in 14th place out of 19 teams at the Cleveland Golf/Augusta State Invitational. The event was contested on the par-72, 6875-yard course at the Forest Hills Golf Club in Augusta.

The Demon Deacons finished the event 25 strokes behind team champion (and tournament host) Augusta State, who finished out at 10-under par (854).

Freshman BRENT WANNER and sophomore JAY MORGAN were the Deacons' top individual finishers on the weekend, as both tied for 42nd place at 4-over par (220). Wanner carded a 73 in Sunday's final round, while Morgan shot a 74. The duo was 13 strokes behind the tournament's individual medalist, Wofford's William McGirt, who came in at 9-under par (207).

Freshman CHRIS YODER shot a 1-over 73 on the final 18 to finish in a tie for 47th place at 5-over (221), while redshirt freshman CORTLAND LOWE tallied a 75 to tie for 56th place at 7-over (223). Freshman BUCK WILLIAMS rounded out the Wake Forest contingent in a tie for 67th place, finishing 9-over par (225) after shooting a 73 on Sunday.
