The Wake Forest men's golf team moved up two spots in the standings to currently sit in 10th place after 36 holes of the Southern Highlands Collegiate Championship. The three-day, 54-hole event is taking place at Southern Highlands on a par 72, 7,440-yard layout.
Wake Forest shot a one-under 287 as a team on Saturday, and are currently six-over for the tournament with a 36-hole total of 582. Arizona State leads the 15-team field with a 21-under 555.
Deacon senior Bill Haas sits atop the individual standings with a nine-under 135 after two rounds. Haas shot a 67 on Saturday to go with his opening 68. He owns a one-stroke lead over Florida's Camilo Villegas.
Sophomore Kyle Reifers moved up to 39th place with an even 72 on Saturday. He is currently four-over for the tournament at 148. Freshman Chad Wilcox is one stroke back in 44th place after carding a 73 in the second round. Another freshman, Sean Moore, is tied for 54th at six-over 150 with a pair of 75s. Junior Doug Manchester also matched his first-round score - a 79 - and is 75th overall at 14-over 158.
Wake Forest is paired with New Mexico and North Carolina for Sunday's final round and will tee off beginning at 8:27 a.m. (PST). Live scoring is available on www.golfstatlive.com.
