Demon Deacons Finish 7th At Puerto Rico Classic
Men's golf shoots 13-over 301 in final round of tourney.

RIO MAR, Puerto Rico - The Wake Forest men's golf team shot a
13-over 301 in the final round of play to finish in 7th place out of 15
teams at the Puerto Rico Classic. The tournament was contested on the
6,945 yard, par-72 course at Rio Mar Country Club in Rio Mar, Puerto Rico.
With a 54-hole score of 874, or 10-over par, the Demon Deacons were 21
strokes behind team champion Georgia Tech, who carded a 1-under 287 today
to win the team title by four strokes at 11-under par.
The top finisher for Wake Forest was freshman Buck Williams who tied for
fourth in the individual standings at 4-under par. Williams was just five
strokes back of the individual champion, Northwestern's Luke Donald who
fired a 4-under 68 today and finished at 9-under for the tournament.
Sophomore Jay Morgan shot a 77 today and tied for 29th place at 4-over,
while freshman Chad Wilfong recorded a 78 to finish tied for 35th at
6-over. Wake Forest's other freshmen Chris Yoder (+7) and Brent Wanner
(+9) finished in ties for 45th and 53rd place respectively.
The Deacs are next in action at the Birkdale Collegiate Golf Classic, held
at Birkdale Golf Club in Huntersville, N.C., on March 11-12.
