Wake Forest In Fifth At Puerto Rico Classic
Men's golf shoots 1-under 287 on first day of tournament.

RIO MAR, PUERTO RICO -- On the first day of the Puerto Rico Classic
the Wake Forest men's golf team shot a 1-under 287, good enough for fifth
place. The tournament is being held on the 6,945 yard, par 72 course at
Rio Mar Country Club in Rio Mar, Puerto Rico.
After 18 holes the Deacons are alone in fifth place in the team standings.
They are three strokes behind co-leaders, Clemson and Georgia Tech, who
carded 4-under 284's.
The best individual round of the day for the Deac's was turned in by Buck
Williams who stands in a tie for eleventh place after firing a 1-under 71.
Three other Deacons stand one shot back at even par 72, placing them in a
group tied for 18th place. They include Jay Morgan, Brent Wanner, and Chad
Wilfong. Leading the individual competition is Bryce Molder of Georgia
Tech who carded a 5-under 67.
The team will be back in action to finish the tournament tomorrow and
Monday, February 28-29.
