PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. - The second-ranked Wake Forest men's golf team is in fourth place after two rounds of the Mercedes-Benz Collegiate Championship, the opening event of the spring season for the Demon Deacon squad. Wake turned in rounds of 299-298 on Monday, and are tied for fourth with Tennessee with a 21-over 597.

The University of Florida currently leads the 15-team field with a nine-over 585. The two-day, 54-hole tournament is taking place at Sawgrass Country Club (par 72, 6,895 yards).

Deacon junior Brent Wanner (Chatham, Mass.) is currently in a tie for ninth place after posting rounds of 75 and a one-under 71 on Monday. He has a two-over 146 heading into Tuesday's final round, nine strokes back of field leader Camilo Villegas of UF.

Sophomore Bill Haas (Greer, S.C.) and junior Chris Yoder (Ashland, Ohio) are tied for 28th with a seven-over 151. Haas turned in rounds of 75 and 76, while Yoder carded a 72 and 79. Senior Jay Morgan (Choctaw, Okla.) is in 32nd position with an eight-over 152 (77-75), while junior Chad Wilfong (Thomasville, N.C.) is in 41st with a 10-over 154 (78-76).

The final round of the Mercedes-Benz Collegiate Championship tees off beginning 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday. The Demon Deacons start their day on the front nine, teeing off from 8:45 to 9:21 a.m.
