Saw action in three tournaments for the Deacons, including one event as an individual...tallied a 74.8 stroke average...recorded one top 20 finish...competed in the final event of the fall, the Golf World/Palmetto Dunes...finished with a five-over par 221 (76-72-73), placing 64th...tied for 44th at The Intercollegiate with a nine-over 225 (72-74-79)...placed 19th as an individual at the Cavalier Classic, carding an eight-over 152 (75-77)...posted two rounds at even par...counted 58 percent of his rounds toward team totals.
1999-2000
Experienced highs and lows during his freshman campaign...carded 11 rounds under par, the most of any Deacon, but also turned in the most rounds in the 80s (seven)...finished sixth in stroke average with a 75.3 (ranked fifth among players who competed in more than one event)...competed in 13 events as a rookie...finished in the top five twice and recorded one other top 20 showing...played in four fall events, three as a starter and one as an individual...opened the season as an individual at The Ridges and placed 71st with a 237 (81-73-83)...rebounded with his best finish of the season the following week, tying teammate Brent Wanner for third at the Cavalier Classic with a two-under 214 (70-71-73)...also placed 54th at the Carpet Capital and 72nd at the Iron Duke (158)...tied for fourth at the Puerto Rico Classic, carding a career-low 54-hole score of 212 in that event...tied for 19th in his first ACC Championship with a five-over 221 (79-71-71)...tied for 99th at the NCAA East Regional...withdrew in the final round of the NCAA Championship...broke 70 twice, shooting a career-low 69 in the opening round of the Mercedes-Benz Collegiate and matching it in the second round of The Intercollegiate at MacGregor Downs...captured the Western Junior championship in 2000 with a one-under 287, shooting a two-under 70 in the final round.

Runner-up in the 1999 North Carolina Junior, losing 2 and 1 in the finals...finished fourth in the 1999 Western Junior...placed among the top 20 in the AJGA Boys Championship in 1999...led Broughton High School to the North Carolina state title in 1998, placing third individually...won the 1998 Mid-Pines Junior...finished second at the North-South Junior and fifth at the AJGA Woodlands in 1998.
