Winston-Salem, N.C. - Wake Forest senior Brad White was named to the CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors of America) Academic All-District III Team, the organization announced on Thursday.

White, a native of from Portsmouth, R.I., has been a three-year starter for the Deacons at linebacker. He has already completed his undergraduate requirements for a degree in analytical finance. White has been simultaneously pursuing a graduate degree in accountancy from the Calloway School of Business. He will earn both degrees in the spring.

White is one of five ACC student-athletes to make the All-District III team.

White has started and played in seven games this year. He has 40 total tackles, including 32 solo stops. His six tackles for loss are tied for the team lead. White also has a sack and a pass break-up. In the Florida State game, he picked up a fumble and returned it 36 yards for a touchdown against the fifth-ranked Seminoles. White has two 10-tackle games to his credit this year. They came against Boston College and East Carolina.

District III is made up of all Division I and I-AA schools in Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia. To be eligible a player must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.2 in the classroom and be a starter or key reserve on the field. The players selected are now eligible for the national Academic All-America team, which will be announced on December 1st.
