Coach Jim Grobe
On the remainder of the season:
"Our guys are smart enough to know if you don't win the next [game], you
won't go [to a bowl game]. They know they have to take it one game at a
time, and they can't worry about playing Georgia Tech. We need to worry
about [North] Carolina first. Everyone knows what's at stake."
On the end of the Virginia game:
"We had three big plays at the end of the game where the ball bounced
our way. The players wouldn't let [the game] go. It was an awakening for
our guys. They made it happen. Players have to make the plays to win the
game and they are realizing it."
On North Carolina:
"They had three tough teams to start out with. So, their record does not
reflect how good of a team they are. They are one of the best teams in
the league if not the best. Curry throws the ball very well, and Durant
runs the ball well. They aren't just one-dimensional quarterbacks
though. They each can throw and run it."
Quintin Williams
On The Game At Virginia:
We finally finished. In other games we had a chance for a defensive
stop and we didn't come through. This game we did.
Its always nice to not make mistakes and to make big plays. We always
knew we had players who can make big plays.
Jamaal Anderson
On Winning For The First Time In 17 Years Against Virginia:
It felt good. It felt like a relief for the team to get the streak off
of our backs. If felt like a relief for me because I know many people
in Virginia and have family in Virginia.
On Facing UNC and Georgia Tech:
It'll be very difficult. UNC is on a [winning] streak of their own.
Their defensive backs are good, their defensive line is good, and Julius
Peppers is very good. Georgia Tech is very good. None of the teams
we play are below average. We need to focus [on UNC]. Some of the guys
are saying we need to win out, but we need to focus on going to
Carolina. With their [5 game winning] streak its going to be tough.
James MacPherson
On Winning The Remaining 3 Games To Make It To A Bowl Game:
That's going to be a big challenge. We need to take it one game at a
time and let the chips fall where they may. There are only three weeks
left in the season, well, three games left in the regular season. I
feel that we've got a good chance to win them all.
On The Big Plays At Virginia:
We had a couple of big plays. It's a boost to our confidence. Jamaal
Anderson at the end of the game, Fabian Davis on the punt return and on
the reverse. We've got a lot of guys who can step up and make play.
That'll be key for a couple of guys to step up.
On Mike Moosbrugger:
We now have stickers on the backs of our helmets as a reminder of
Moose. After the Virginia game he is still in our minds. He's still in
our thoughts and our prayers. This has definitely helped put things in
perspective as far as athletics and football. It helps us bond more a s
team and we see how football fits into the scheme of things.
There's a loss with him not being here. Blake Henry who's filling in
for Moose is a capable guard. They've been switching in and out all
seasons. We hope that we can get him back as soon as possible, but when
the time is right for him.
