WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest punter Matt Brennie was named the ACC Specialist of the Week for his performance at home against Vanderbilt this past Saturday. Brennie, a sophomore from Highland, N.Y., posted his fourth straight game of averaging at least 40 yards per punt. Against the Commodores Brennie averaged 40.8 yards per punt and booted one inside the 20. He recorded a long punt of 54 yards.

Brennie, who is averaging 42.9 yards per punt for the season, ranks fourth in the ACC and 17th nationally in punting average. He set a new career-long with a 56-yard punt earlier this season.

Brennie's honor marks the second time this season a Wake Forest player has been tabbed for ACC Specialist of the Week. Junior kick returner John Stone earned the distinction on Sept. 4.
