May 30, 2006

Greensboro, N.C. - The Atlantic Coast Conference announced Tuesday that the Wake Forest football game against Duke at Groves Stadium on September 9 will kick off at noon and be televised by Lincoln Financial Sports/Raycom, formerly known as Jefferson Pilot Sports.

The game will serve as the ACC opener for both teams. The Demon Deacons and Blue Devils have not met in an ACC opener since 1967. Wake Forest has won six straight games against Duke and seven of the last 10 games at Groves Stadium.

The ACC released the start times for 18 games, including 12 regular season conference match-ups, including all games to be broadcast on ABC, ESPN, ESPN2 and LFS/Raycom. After the weekend of September 16, ABC, ESPN and LFS/Raycom will make their weekly selections using a 12-day option.
