HOUSTON (AP) - Ben Sankey, the free agent quarterback who spent the last two
seasons as a backup with Calgary in the CFL, signed with the expansion
Houston Texans on Wednesday.
Sankey completed 93 of 156 passes for 1,255 yards and 14 touchdowns last
season for the Grey Cup champion Stampeders.
As a senior at Wake Forest, the 6-foot-2, 215-pound Sankey was the MVP of
the Aloha Bowl in December 1999, leading the Demon Deacons to a 23-3 victory
over Arizona State.
