WINSTON-SALEM - Ethan Reeve, strength coach at Ohio University since 1995, was officially named Wake Forest's strength and conditioning coordinator, athletic director Ron Wellman announced today.

Reeve is the ninth person associated with the Ohio University football program that has followed head coach Jim Grobe to Wake Forest, joining eight former Bobcat assistant coaches on the new Demon Deacon staff.

"We are excited to have Ethan as a member of our staff," Wellman said. "His familiarity with this football staff and his diverse experience in many areas will be a great asset to our entire athletic program."

Reeve, a University of Tennessee graduate, was a two-time All-American and four-time Southeastern Conference champion in wrestling. After coaching wrestling on the high school level following graduation, he worked as an assistant wrestling coach and strength coach for wrestling at Tennessee (1977-79), Oklahoma State (1980-81), Ohio (1981-82) and Clemson (1983-84). He was head wrestling coach at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga from 1984 to 1990.

Certified through the United States Weighlifting Federation, Reeve worked with the U.S. Women's Rowing team that won four gold medals and one silver medal at the 1995 World Championships.

Reeve replaces Ed Ellis, who was recently named to a similar position at Georgia Tech.
