WINSTON-SALEM -- The formal presentation of the 2006 Bobby Dodd National Coach of the Year award to Wake Forest head coach Jim Grobe will take place Tuesday, February 27th at 7:00 p.m. in the North Hall of the M.C. Benton Convention and Civic Center in downtown Winston-Salem. Tickets are $50 per person, $500 for a table of 10, can be purchased at the Wake Forest ticket office in Bridger Field House or by calling 336-758-3322.
The Bobby Dodd Coach of the Year winner is determined by a vote from all previous winners of the award, in addition to a vote from a blue-ribbon panel featuring a "who's who" in college football.
Grobe led Wake Forest to a memorable 11-3 season. The 11 wins broke the previous school record of 8. The Deacons were the first ACC team to go 6-0 on the road. The Demon Deacons had many accomplishments in the 2006 season including being ACC Champions and earning their first ever trip to a Bowl Championship Series game, the FedEx Orange Bowl.
