Winston-Salem, NC - Wake Forest rising junior running back and theatre major Micah Andrews was selected as Sports Illustrated On Campus' Athlete Of The Week on Tuesday for his off-the-field accomplishments in the Wake Forest University theatre department.

Andrews' credits include "Our Reality," a play written, produced, directed and performed by Wake Forest student-athletes and "It's Not Goodbye, It's See You Later," a semi-autobiographical screenplay. On Monday, as part of a week-long celebration of the civil rights leader's legacy, Andrews gave a powerful reading of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., "I Have A Dream Speech" on the Wake Forest campus.

On the football field, Andrews set freshman and sophomore records for average yards per carry in a season. In 2005, he played in all 11 games and started the season's first three contests. For the year, Andrews rushed 110 times for 618 yards with one touchdown. His best game of the year came against Vanderbilt in the season opener when he rushed for 254 yards, the second-most yards in a single game by a Wake Forest player in program history. He was named ACC Player of the Week for that performance. Two weeks later, Andrews rushed for 142 yards against East Carolina and was named ACC Rookie of the Week.
