Wake Forest rising junior running back and theatre major Micah Andrews will give a reading of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s, "I Have A Dream" speech at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, January 16 at the Z. Smith Reynolds Library on the Wake Forest campus. The reading is part of a week-long celebration of the civil rights leader's legacy sponsored by Wake Forest and Winston-Salem State University.
This is the fifth year Wake Forest has collaborated with Winston-Salem State to present a series of events surrounding Martin Luther King Jr. Day. The two schools have a joint planning committee and the schools alternate hosting the shared celebration.
For the 2006 celebration, Bernice King, the youngest daughter of Dr. King, will present the keynote address, "On Common Ground," at 7:00 p.m. Monday in Wait Chapel on the Wake Forest campus. The event is free and open to the public.
