Wake Forest running back Chris Barclay is in Las Vegas this week to participate in Saturday's All-American Classic at UNLV's Sam Boyd Stadium. Kickoff is set for 4:30 p.m. eastern time on Comcast Sports.
The game features 104 of the nation's top seniors, including 10 players from the Atlantic Coast Conference. Twenty-eight players from last year's game earned roster spots in the NFL.
Barclay will wear his familiar number 28 while competing for the East team. His teammates include quarterback Brett Basanez of Northwestern and fellow ACC representatives David Castillo and James Coleman of Florida State, Thomas Carroll, Quadtrine Hill, Leon Williams and Greg Threat of Miami and Will Montgomery of Virginia Tech.
Barclay was the 2005 ACC Player of the Year, Offensive Player of the Year and a three-time All-ACC selection. The native of Louisville, Ky., carried 218 times as a senior for 1,127 yards and 10 touchdowns. Barclay led the ACC in rushing yards, rushing attempts and all-purpose yards (1,508).
Barclay leaves as Wake Forest all-time leading rusher (4,032 yards) and scorer (40 touchdowns). He ended his career as the ACC's fifth-leading rusher of all-time, seventh in rushing touchdowns and ninth in total touchdowns. Barclay is the only player in ACC history to lead the league in rushing during the regular season in three straight years.
