Enters the fall as the projected starter at left outside linebacker ¡K came to Wake Forest as a running back and was the fourth-leading rusher as a freshman ¡K has found a home on defense where he is a speedy, athletic player with all the skills coaches look for in linebackers ¡K continues to improve each day as he grows accustomed to playing the position ¡K tallied five tackles in the spring game ¡K met gold standards in seven events in the weight room at the conclusion of spring workouts.

2001: Converted from running back to inside linebacker prior to the season ¡K appeared in a reserve role in 10 games ¡K had a productive season with 31 tackles (13 solo), a tackle for loss and a forced fumble ¡K registered two tackles at Florida State and blocked a punt out of the back of the end zone for a safety ¡K recorded a season-high nine tackles (four solo) against NC State ¡K made six tackles and forced a fumble against Maryland ¡K made three tackles against North Carolina including one for loss ¡K contributed on special teams with a blocked punt and four tackles.

2000: Saw action in 10 games ... carried the ball 46 times for 139 yards ... averaged 3.0 yards a carry ... scored two touchdowns on the season ... scored his first career touchdown and Wake's first rushing TD of the year with a one-yard scamper on the final drive of the Appalachian State game ... was the Deacs' top rusher against UNC, with eight carries for 22 yards, including a season-long 18-yard run ... rushed six times for 17 yards at Clemson ... returned a kickoff 20 yards against Virginia ... had an 11-yard run against Vanderbilt ... scored his second touchdown of the season at Georgia Tech, a two-yard run ... missed the Maryland game with a sprained neck, but returned against Duke to rush eight times for 30 yards ... recorded two rushes for nine yards at Navy.

1999: Saw action in nine of 11 regular season games ... most of his action came on special teams ... recorded 15 carries for 55 yards on the year (3.1 avg.) ... had a season-high eight carries (for 16 yards) against NC State ... posted a season-high 29 yards (on four carries) against UAB, including a 20-yard run which set up a fourth-quarter field goal.

1998: Redshirted the season as a true freshman.

Background: Standout for three years at Concord HS where he was coached by E.Z. Smith ¡K earned all-state honors as both a junior and senior and was a three-time all-conference selection ¡K also an honorable mention All-America pick by USA Today ¡K ran for 5,565 yards for his career, eclipsing the Cabarrus County records of NFL running backs Natrone Means and Jay Graham ¡K also scored 61 times as a prep star ¡K lettered three seasons in track, too, reaching the state championships in the triple jump all three years ¡K named track team MVP as a junior and senior ¡K active in extracurricular affairs as well, including student council, DARE and as a volunteer with Special Olympics ¡K former pupil at the Wake Forest Football Camp.
