Wake Forest’s leading returning rusher (128 yards on 32 carries last season) and total offense producer (128 yards) ... should be a key figure in the Deacons’ run-oriented offense this fall ... enters the season listed at tailback on the depth chart but could also be considered for action at fullback if needed ... an all-purpose back ... possesses good footwork and good moves which allow him to hit holes quickly ... a hard-nosed, hard-to-tackle rusher and a quality receiver who can make yardage in the open field ... competing with a host of others for starting duties at running back, replacing second team All-ACC performer Morgan Kane ... had a promising 1998 season when he showed signs of being an outstanding back ... played sparingly in 1997 after redshirting in 1996.

1999
Saw action in all 11 regular season games ... rushed for 128 yards on 32 carries ... caught four passes for 56 yards (14.0 yards per reception) and one touchdown ... earned his second varsity letter ... was the back-up at tailback to Morgan Kane ... also contributed on special teams ... caught an 8-yard touchdown pass in the season-ending upset of No. 14 Georgia Tech ... posted career highs in carries (9 vs. FSU) and rushing yards (33 vs. NC State) ... also lined up as a kickoff return man on occasion ... had a pair of carries for five yards in the Jeep Aloha Bowl against Arizona State.

1998
Saw action in all 11 games in the backfield and was a contributor on special teams … did not see much playing time during the first half of the schedule, but emerged as a quality performer during the final four weeks … carried the ball 15 times on the year, averaging a team-best 4.0 yards per rushing attempt … gained 17 yards on one run at Air Force, but never carried the ball over three times in a single game … more of a factor as a receiver, finishing fifth on the squad with 22 total receptions … 19 of those catches came in the final four games, including six receptions against both NC State and Florida State … turned in an outstanding afternoon versus the Wolfpack, accumulating 107 yards on his half dozen receptions … that day included a 45-yard catch-and-run as well as a 17-yard touchdown catch of a Brian Kuklick pass … scored again in the season finale at Georgia Tech on a three-yard pass from Kuklick … had five receptions that day (for 30 yards) … averaged 19.1 yards on 10 kickoff returuns with a longest of 30 yards at NC State.

Background
Outstanding running back at nearby Reynolds High School … barely had to adjust his school colors (Reynolds was black & gold, too) or team nickname (Reynolds was the Demons) in coming to WFU … a two-time all-Northwest selection by the Winston-Salem Journal while starring under coach Dave McConnell … rushed for 1,580 yards and 18 touchdowns as a senior, averaging an outstanding 10.2 yards per carry … started in the Shrine Bowl for the North Carolina all-stars as well … had slightly higher numbers as a junior (1,706 yards gained and 20 TDs) … once rushed for 277 yards in a single game versus Glenn High … also a standout in basketball as a backcourt performer and in track as a sprinter … committed to Wake Forest after his junior season … majoring in communication … will become 23 during preseason (born 8/23/77).
