A talented and versatile performer who has filled in admirably at different positions ... will begin the 2000 season as the back-up to Ovie Mughelli at fullback ... has played fullback, wide receiver and tight end during his career with the Deacons ... has great hands as a receiver and is not afraid to catch a pass in traffic ... has developed into an all-purpose back ... not only a power blocker, but a movement blocker, according to the coaches ... has great power and quickness for a big, tall fullback ... has added size and much strength since his arrival on the Wake Forest campus ... originally came to WFU in 1997 without a scholarship.

1999
Played in nine regular season games ... had two rushing attempts for three yards ... caught one pass for five yards including a touchdown ... began the season at wide receiver, then moved to tight end and ultimately finished the season at fullback ... moved to fullback midway through the season due to a shortage of bodies there ... less than a week after switching to fullback, was given the starting call at that position against No. 1-ranked Florida State in place of the injured Mughelli ... also started against North Carolina and caught his first career pass, a five-yard TD reception out of the backfield on a busted play.

Enrolled at Wake Forest on an academic grant after enjoying a fine career as a student and athlete at nearby West Forsyth High … earned all-conference honors there as a sophomore and junior at defensive end, then as a receiver in his senior year under coach Russell Stone … also an excellent basketball player for the Titans, twice being selected team MVP … runner-up for the Northwest North Carolina player-of-the-year award in that sport (as selected by the Winston-Salem Journal) … spent part of his freshman year at Wake Forest on Coach Dave Odom’s hoops squad, seeing brief action in one game (vs Duke) … father Herman played both football and basketball on the collegiate level at the University of South Dakota … chosen to represent Wake Forest at the prestigious NCAA Leadership Conference in Lake Buena Vista, FL, in the summer of 1999 … majoring in economics … age 21 (born 12/23/78).
