1998: Came to Wake Forest as a walk-on in the fall of 1998 ?saw some action at quarterback as part of the scout team.
Background: Enjoyed an excellent athletic career at Manasquan HS ?an all-state quarterback as a senior under coach Vic Kubu ... also the area offensive player of the year, as chosen by the Asbury Park Press ?also caught 18 passes as a wide receiver for 454 yards and four touchdowns as a freshman and sophomore ?accounted for 51 TDs either running, passing or receiving during his career ?served as team placekicker, too, and was all-county in that capacity ?lettered four years in football, basketball and baseball ?captained the Warrior football and baseball squads in his senior year ?outstanding shortstop and pitcher, batting .421 in his final season ?stole 75 bases and compiled a 1.47 earned run average for his career ?named to the "All-Shore" baseball all-star team as a shortstop.
