Player Profile
Position:
Graduate Assistant Football Coach

A familiar face on the Demon Deacon offensive line for four seasons from 1998-01, Vince Azzolina joined the Wake Forest coaching staff last year as a graduate assistant. Now in his second season on the staff, Azzolina's duties include guiding the defensive scout team in preparing the offensive unit each week. He will also work with the offensive line, assisting coach Steed Lobotzke, in addition to weekly opponent planning.

An honorable mention All-ACC selection as a senior in 2001, Azzolina was a mainstay at center for Wake Forest, starting 37 consecutive games. During his final season the Deacon offensive line allowed just 13 sacks, a mark which ranked first in the ACC. Azzolina's leadership and consistent play at center also helped the offense average a league-best 221.6 rushing yards per game that year. Azzolina was named ACC Offensive Lineman of the Week following WFU's come-from-behind victory over North Carolina in 2001, in which the Deacs accumulated 354 yards and 32 second-half points.

Azzolina has been a part of two bowl victories during his time at Wake Forest - as a player in the 1999 Aloha Bowl and on the sidelines during the 2002 Seattle Bowl.

Azzolina, a native of Easton, Pa., earned a bachelor's degree in communication from Wake Forest in December of 2000.
