Wake Forest's Darius Songaila was chosen by the Boston Celtics with the 50th pick of the 2002 NBA Draft Wednesday night. Songaila, a 6-9 forward from Marijampole, Lithuania, was a four-year starter for the Demon Deacons, leading the team in scoring his senior year (17.9 points-per-game) and rebounding (8.1 per-game). A second team All-ACC selection this past season and an honorable mention All-American, Songaila played for Lithuania's national team that earned the bronze medal in the 2000 Sydney Olympics, nearly upsetting the United States' Dream Team twice.
