John Buck Postseason Postcard

March 14, 2005

It's tourney time again. If you're not excited to play now, you never will be.

After enjoying dinner at Coach Prosser's house Sunday night, we watched the selection show right along with everyone around the country. We received the #2 seed in the Albuquerque region. The tournament committee decided to send us to Cleveland for our first game against Chattanooga. At first, some of the players were disappointed not to get a #1 seed. But most of the guys soon realized that there is not too much of a difference between the two seeds. It's all about who is excited to play and willing to prepare for each game. We're definitely ready to go.

Practice was intense today. A huge key for our game against Chattanooga will be rebounding the basketball. They are the number two rebounding team in the nation. The scout team was instructed to attack the offensive backboard in order to simulate Chattanooga's style of play.

Tomorrow, we will have another important practice and then leave for Cleveland.

I still find it hard to believe we're headed to the NCAA tournament. Although we have known for a while that we would be a part of it, the reality has started to finally settle in. It's time to take advantage of the opportunity.
