Chris Paul Named Academic All-District

Winston-Salem, NC - Wake Forest sophomore Chris Paul has been selected to the 2005 ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District III Men's Basketball University Division Team, announced College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) on Thursday.

To be eligible for the team, student athletes must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.2 or higher. Academic All-America selections will draw from the pool of All-District teams later this year.

Paul averages 15.1 points per game and leads the ACC in assists (176), assist to turnover ratio (2.64). steals (63) and steals per game (2.42). He leads the Deacons in free throws made (130), free throws made per game (5.0), minutes played (862) and minutes played per game (33.2). He has been named the ACC Player of the Week twice this season and has led the Deacons to one of the best starts in school history.

Joining Paul on the All-District III team were Brian Bender of Gardner-Webb, Will Emerson of Mercer, Alex Loughton of Old Dominion and Shawan Robinson of Clemson.
