Bush Promoted to Single-A Dunedin

Aug. 9, 2002

DUNEDIN, FLA. - Dave Bush, a two-time All-American for the Wake Forest baseball team, earned a promotion in the Toronto Blue Jays farm system this week. Bush moved from Auburn (N.Y.) in the New York-Penn League, to Dunedin (Fla.), Toronto's High-A affiliate in the Florida State League.

Bush made his Dunedin debut on Thursday night, striking out one batter in two scoreless innings of relief.

Bush left Auburn after quickly establishing himself as one of the top relievers in the New York-Penn League. The league's reliever of the month in July, Bush owned a 1-1 record, a 2.82 ERA and ten saves. He had 39 strikeouts and just seven walks (two intentional) in 22.1 innings.

Bush finished his Wake Forest career as the Atlantic Coast Conference's all-time leader in appearances and the school's all-time leader in saves. He was the second round draft pick of the Blue Jays in the June draft.
