Richmond head coach Ron Atkins
"Well I guess it's an understatement but it was a great ball game. I think both teams played really well. The rain delay could have helped us; could have hurt us. I know it took two innings off of Tim Stauffer. He came back and gave us two or three and really pitched well. We made a couple of mistakes towards the end that could have cost us the ball game. As I said yesterday, these kids find a way to win and I think they showed that today. As far as Wake Forest, they've got a great ball club and I'm sure that they're going to be heard from again. We're just happy to be here."

On starting pitcher Tim Stauffer:"Timmy is a tremendous athlete; he's in top shape. He religiously does his workouts in the weight room. If he weren't in tip-top he'd never be able to go back out there. We left it up to him (to go back out there). He loosened up and said he felt fine, he wasn't tight. He said 'If I get tight, I'll tell you and I'm coming out.' There wasn't any decision once he said he could go."

Richmond pitcher Tim Stauffer
"My arm felt good. The rest of my body was kind of tired but my arm felt good. I was able to throw strikes for the most part. I was getting a little more movement on the ball. I got some ground balls and was able to get a couple of quick innings."
