Wake Forest sophomore first baseman Allan Dykstra has been named second team All-ACC for the second straight season, as announced by the league office on Monday.
Dykstra was one of the most dangerous hitters in the conference in 2007, finishing the regular season with 17 home runs and 55 RBIs. The lefthanded-hitting Dykstra also hit .325, slugged .650 and reached base at a .484 clip.
The San Diego native is among the league leaders in home runs (second), slugging percentage (third), total bases (fourth), walks (fourth), RBIs (seventh) and on-base percentage (seventh). Dykstra's 32 RBIs in conference play led the ACC, while his 30 walks were second.
Dykstra started all 56 games for the Demon Deacons, playing every out of the season at first base. He reached base safely in 53 of the 56 games and had a hit in all but 15 games this season.
Dykstra was also named as a Golden Spikes Award semifinalist and was included on the Brooks Wallace Award Revised Watch List.
As a freshman in 2006, Dykstra was named the ACC Rookie of the Year and was second team all-conference. He was selected as a Freshman All-American by several publications. Dykstra hit .324 with 15 home runs and 56 RBIs in 2006.
