WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - No. 8 seed Wake Forest will face No. 1 seed Clemson at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday night in the 2006 Atlantic Coast Conference Tournament at the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville in Jacksonville, Fla.

The Demon Deacons finished just one victory shy of the No. 5 seed, but must settle for the No. 8 seed after finishing the regular season in a three-way tie for sixth place with Florida State and NC State. The Seminoles went 3-2 against the Wolfpack and Wake Forest to earn the No. 6 seed. NC State was 3-3 against the two teams for the No. 7 seed, while the Deacons were 2-3.

The Tigers went 24-6 in the league and captured the Atlantic Division to earn the No. 1 seed. North Carolina won the Coastal Division with a 22-8 conference record and is seeded No. 2. Virginia (21-9) is seeded No. 3, Georgia Tech (19-11) earned the No. 4 seed and Miami (17-13) is the No. 5 seed.
