Wake Forest will be the eighth seed in the 2007 ACC Tournament, May 23-27 at the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville, as announced by the league office on Sunday. The Demon Deacons will play in the Division `A' bracket along with top-seeded Florida State, fourth-seeded Clemson and fifth-seeded Miami.

Wake opens its tournament against FSU on Wednesday, May 23, at 7 p.m. The Deacs will then have an off day on Thursday and return to action on Friday against Clemson. First pitch against the Tigers is set for 4 p.m.

The Deacons close out round-robin play against Miami on Saturday at 7 p.m.

The top two teams from each bracket will advance to Sunday's championship game beginning at 1 p.m., with the winner gaining the ACC's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.

The Division `B' bracket consists of second-seeded North Carolina, third-seeded Virginia, sixth-seeded NC State and seventh-seeded Georgia Tech.

Florida State finished as the Atlantic Division champs with a conference mark of 24-6, while North Carolina was the Coastal Division champs at 21-9 in league play.

Wake Forest is 45-57 in its 33 ACC Tournament appearances since 1973. The Deacons have claimed four titles--1977, 1998, 1999 and 2001.

The Deacs went 0-2 in the 2006 ACC Tournament in Jacksonville. Seeded eighth, Wake fell to top-seeded Clemson, 13-1, in the opening round and then to fifth-seeded Miami, 4-1, in an elimination game.

Wake Forest is 7-20 combined against Clemson (4-12), Florida State (3-7) and Miami (0-1) in ACC Tournament play. The Deacs last faced FSU in 2005 and Clemson and Miami in 2006. The Demon Deacons went 2-7 against Division `A' opponents this season. Florida State swept Wake 3-0 in Tallahassee, while the Deacs lost two of three at home to each Clemson and Miami. All 13 ACC Tournament games will be televised live on FSN South, SportSouth, Comcast Sportsnet Mid-Atlantic, FSN Florida, Sun Sports or NESN.

Wake Forest's game against Florida State on Wednesday will be broadcast live by SportSouth, Comcast Sportsnet Mid-Atlantic, FSN Florida and Sun Sports. Wake's game against Clemson on Friday will air live on FSN South, Comcast Sportsnet Mid-Atlantic and FSN Florida. The Deacons' contest against Miami on Saturday evening will be shown live on SportSouth, Comcast Sportsnet Mid-Atlantic and FSN Florida.
