Ben Ingold Named CoSIDA Academic All-District III Team

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest junior shortstop Ben Ingold was named to the CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors of America) Academic All-America District III Second Team, the organization announced on Thursday.

Ingold, a political science major with a 3.46 grade point average, was selected to the second team.

The native of Durham, N.C., and graduate of Riverside High School, has been the everyday shortstop during his three years at Wake Forest. As a junior, Ingold has emerged as one of the league's stars, batting a team-best .374 with three home runs and 35 runs batted in. Ingold has 11 stolen bases to his credit and is one of the league's best defensive shortstops with a .965 fielding percentage.

To be eligible for nomination, student-athletes must have played in 50 percent of the team's games, be of sophomore standing academically and carry a cumulative grade point average of 3.2.
