Wake Forest will honor members of the 1955 National Championship baseball team prior to the Saturday, May 14 game vs. Clemson in a special pre-game ceremony. First-pitch is scheduled with the Tigers for 1:30 p.m.
The Demon Deacon won their first and only baseball national championship on June 17, 1955 defeating the Western Michigan Broncos, 7-6. Frank McRae was the game's top slugger. He opened with a double and followed with four straight singles, driving in three. Jack McGinley's strong right arm and iron nerve carried Wake Forest to the championship of the College World Series. He tossed 5.1 innings of scoreless relief and struckout four in the victorious effort.
Single game tickets are $5 and $3 for youth and seniors. Tickets can be purchased in advanced or on game-day. Seating is general admission.
