Deacons Get Back to Work on the Diamond

May 10, 2003

Winston-Salem, N.C. -- After a 10-day break for finals, the Wake Forest baseball team swings back into action on Sunday afternoon at VCU. The game is scheduled to begin at 2:00 p.m. at The Diamond in Richmond, home of the Triple-A Richmond Braves.

Several Deacons will see action on the mound on Sunday in a "staff day" against VCU. However, Golden Spikes Award finalist Kyle Sleeth will start for Wake Forest.

The Deacons return to Hooks Stadium for their final five games of the regular season. Brian Bach gets the ball as the homestand begins on Monday against Elon at 3:00 p.m. On Wednesday, Wake Forest plays High Point at 2:30 p.m. Kyle Young will start against the Panthers.

Wake Forest will tangle with the Clemson Tigers for three games, from Thursday through Saturday. Game times for the series are 2:30, 1:30 and 1:00 p.m.

All three games of the Clemson series will air on WBRF 98.1 FM and on the internet at WakeForestSports.com. Saturday's game will be televised on Fox Sports South, Sunshine Network and Comcast.

All games can be followed on an up-to-the-minute basis with Gametracker.
