The Wake Forest baseball team hosts Liberty Tuesday then travels to UNC Greensboro Wednesday before their 13-day break for final exams. First-pitch at Hooks Stadium for the Flames and Deacons is scheduled for 3 p.m., while the Deacs and Spartans will start at 6 p.m.

Wake Forest was scheduled to face both Liberty and UNC Greensboro earlier this season, but both games were cancelled due to weather.

The Flames (23-14, 7-8 Big South) enter the contest following their three-game series at Coastal Carolina. While Liberty was swept, the final two games were down to the wire.

Aaron Grijalva leads the Falmes offensively. He is tops on the team in batting average (.382), runs (37), hits (50), tied for home runs (6) and second in RBI (27). Phillip Laurent and Michael Just are also hitting above .300. Laurent is batting .336 with a home run, 16 RBI and six stolen bases, while Just is batting .331 with two home runs and 22 RBI.

Phillip Thompson is tops on the squad with a 3.31 earned run average. He is 3-1 with three saves in 32.3 innings pitched. Thompson has struckout 23 and walked 13 this season. As a staff, the Flames have an ERA of 4.37. Liberty has fanned 254 and walked 133.

UNC Greensboro (23-14, 10-8 SoCon) also enters the tilt following a sweep. The Spartans dropped all three games at Elon this past weekend.

Chris Mason is not only one of the top pitchers in the entire country, but also leads UNCG in batting average (.342) and hits (53). Mason is 4-4 with a 2.38 ERA and has fanned a remarkable 105 (walking only 13) in 75.2 innings. Jeremy Roulin is the only other everyday player for the Spartans hitting over .300. Roulin is batting .322 with a home run and 25 RBI.

Adam Krieger is tops on the staff with a 2.17 ERA. Kreiger has made 11 appearances and five starts good for 37.1 innings. Opponents are hitting just .212 against Krieger this season. Wes McCall leads UNCG with five saves. McCall is 4-1 with a 4.25 ERA, while Currin is 4-3 with a 3.22 ERA and four saves.

Wake Forest will return to action following the break on May 10 at Elon. First-pitch with the Phoenix is scheduled for 1 p.m. and will be broadcast live on WBRF-FM (98.1) and be available on the internet at WakeForestSports.com through the Yahoo subscription service. Live stats will be also available at WakeForestSports.com via Gametracker.
