THIS WEEKEND'S TOP STORIES

Deacons Host Tar Heels at Hooks Stadium...
Two midweek rainouts did nothing to wash away the bad taste in Wake Forest's mouth after enduring a three-game sweep at Clemson last weekend. The Demon Deacons, on a six-game losing streak, look to rebound at Hooks Stadium against long time rival North Carolina.

The Deacons are looking to get well against the Tar Heels, a team Wake Forest has defeated in 11 of the 14 meetings since 2000.

North Carolina (20-6) is ranked ninth by Collegiate Baseball, 20th by Baseball America. The Deacons are looking for their first victory over a top-10 team since winning at number one Clemson on April 26, 2002.

Antonelli: A Leading Candidate for ACC Rookie of the Year...
Deacon third baseman Matt Antonelli is making a push for the league's Rookie of the Year award. The native of Peabody, Mass., leads all ACC freshmen in RBI, runs, walks and on-base percentage. His 30 runs ranks second among all ACC players, regardless of class, and his .337 batting average is second on the team. Antonelli leads the Deacons with nine stolen bases and has made just three errors in 25 games.

Today's Number to Note is...
.727 - Wake Forest's winning percentage at Hooks Stadium in 2004 with eight wins against three losses.
